ASTHA, an NGO working with children with disabilities in Delhi’s urban slums, wanted to explore how climate change was affecting the children and families they serve. Partnering with Earth Warriors, the journey began with a training program for ASTHA’s entire staff—building their understanding of climate change and its direct links to children’s health, learning, and safety. Earth Warriors then facilitated community consultations, hearing directly from families about how extreme heat, flooding, and pollution were compounding the daily challenges faced by children with disabilities. Both organisations joined forces to raise awareness on the disproportionate impact of climate change on people with disabilities by convening a first-of-its-kind panel discussion on the topic at Purple Fest 2025 in Goa.
